For both kitchen and bathroom flooring the main thing to consider is resistance to moisture. Luxury vinyl flooring is a great option because it is durable and most styles are waterproof. Laminate and solid hardwood flooring are not recommended because they can easily be damaged by standing water and high humidity. Engineered hardwood flooring can be used in a kitchen if you are careful to wipe up spills promptly.
